Taking Care of Your Skin in Winter - Top Beauty Women TIPS

RT - There is an indisputable chill in the air and it’s set to only get colder although please no, not another winter like last year! I live slightly outside of town but in the depths of last year’s winter I may as well have lived in deepest darkest Antarctica! I love the winter, I was born in December but I’m just too much of a whining girl to put up with coldness and wet and wellies and snow and the ever present fear of falling flat one ones face after stepping on a potential neck breaking patch of ice.
Anyway I digress; this article is all about winter skin care the cold weather brings with it a whole host of harsh realities your poor old skin has to face up to. Dry, flaky, distressed skin is what comes to mind when you think about winter skin and the harsh conditions it sometimes has to put up with, but fear not there are steps you can take to prevent this!
Personally I think the biggest problem for our skin in the winter months is dryness. There is nothing worse than dry skin and I speak from personal experience here; it’s uncomfortable, unsightly and it means your make up doesn’t sit properly a nightmare indeed. So step one in the winter skin care SOS is to make sure you moisturise religiously during the winter months, perhaps consider moving to a slightly more intense moisturiser. Even just at night when you have removed all of your makeup if you are worried about a more intense moisturiser making your face into an oil slick and your foundation a thing of the past.
That brings me onto my next point cleansing, I feel this is even more important during the colder season as we may replace the lack of sun and tan with a liberal slathering of foundation and bronzer. This means that cleansing is ever more important in winter, make sure you get every scrap of make up off because a break out is worth avoiding at all costs.
If you have dull dehydrated skin what’s the answer? Exfoliation of course it is vitally important to get rid of all the dead skin particles that having dry skin brings a good exfoliator will be a god send in your winter skin care kit. Exfoliate once a week or more if necessary and enjoy brighter, fresher, healthier looking skin.
During the winter season it is as always imperative that you wear sun screen, why I hear you ask? Just because you can’t see the sun and it’s not splitting the sky doesn’t mean that the harmful UVA and UVB rays aren’t present. Protect yourself and use a good sun screen all year round, it will turn out to be one of your greatest weapons in the fight against aging.
